11/09/2019 - Last day of impact project
Today was our last session of impact project. We will both not be here on Friday. On Sunday we presented our impact project at the open day. We had our science board, which had the engine reassembly process on it, the engine we reassembled, the Stirling engine and the model four-stroke engine. We ran the Stirling engine to show the piston moving up and down. We answered all the questions people had. We also printed the manual and put it in a folder so people could read through it. We also printed our presentation so that people could read about our impact on the community and why we chose this project. Today we made sure we fully finished the process and the manual. We made sure everything was finished and in the right place. We will not be presenting on Friday since we will not be here.

Today we got our presentation ready for Sunday. We printed our completed presentation slideshow and put it in a folder so people can read through it. We also finished the manual and printed it out and put it in a folder. We did this so that people can read through our manual when the look at our presentation. We also printed out the process and put it on the science board. We brought the engine to school so people can see the reassembled finished product. We also got a model four-stroke engine from the woodwork room that we used the last term. This has a moving piston and we can show people the piston moving up and down. We also got the Stirling engine out so that we can have that running and people can see it working. We have finished everything we wanted. The engine does not start due to a few broken and missing parts. We put the lawnmower engine we reassembled on a stand so the drive shaft can stick through.

04/09/2019 - Wednesday
Today we worked on the engine reassembly process. Over the weekend we almost completely reassembled the engine. We put all the parts on and had none left over except for a few covers which are not needed. We also tested if our engine is working by testing the spark. We unplugged the spark plug and then span the flywheel. When we did the is we got some spark. We will put some oil in the engine. We also got a fuel can and we need to build a stand so when we try to start the engine the driveshaft which is on the bottom of the engine can spin. We also worked on our presentation slideshow which we added things like what we achieved and what challenges we faced. On Friday we are going to start putting things on our science board. We are also going to work and hopefully finish the manual. We are going to put the photos and short descriptions from the engine disassembly manual on the board so people can look at the parts and see what they are and what they do.
